The goal of accreditation is to ensure that education providers meet acceptable levels of quality. To find out if your school is accredited, use our School Search tool. If the school you are researching isn’t in our database, try both of these sites:

  • CHEA Database of Institutions and Programs Accredited by Recognized United States Accrediting Organizations. CHEA recommends using accreditation and quality assurance lists to identify reliable higher education institutions and programs.
  • U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, some postsecondary educational institutions and programs may choose not to seek accreditation, but may still provide a quality education.
